January 2024 Newsletter

Welcome to a New Year at the Tower of Deliverance Church! 2024 has already gotten off to an amazing start! We cannot wait to share with our audience all the things that are happening here at the Tower!

The Year of great restoration

For those who haven't been able to join us for our Sunday night Glory Experiences or Life in The Word, there's been an abundance of teaching on restoration that we'd like to share with you.
It all began on the very first day of the year during our crossover service, where Pastor McCray unveiled our theme for the year: "The Year of Great Restoration," inspired by Joel 2:25-29 under the sermon title of "God is Getting Ready to Restore Me." Since then, throughout January, we've witnessed numerous testimonies of great restoration emerging from within our ministry.
One key lesson that has resonated deeply is the understanding that restoration and reconciliation don't always necessitate bringing a person back into our inner circle, especially in matters concerning relationships. Sometimes, it means loving from a distance and establishing healthy boundaries, forgiveness, too, is a process that can unfold over time. While time itself cannot be restored, we've been reminded that God transcends time and can redeem what has been lost. In Christ, we find the promise of reclaiming the time we feel we've squandered or lost.
Moreover, our teachings on restoration have been intertwined with lessons on repentance, drawing from Joel 2:12. Repentance, we've learned, is not merely an action but a posture—a continuous state of acknowledging our shortcomings and seeking forgiveness from God. It's about living every part of our lives in a spirit of repentance, recognizing our faults and asking for forgiveness, even in the small parts of our daily experiences. By adopting a posture of repentance, we invite God to move in our lives, offering us a clean slate and a renewed sense of purpose.
As we move forward, let's keep these profound truths at the forefront of our minds and hearts. May we embrace restoration, reconciliation, and repentance as essential elements of our spiritual journey, trusting in God's promise to bring wholeness and renewal to every aspect of our lives.

New Year Resolution Check-In: “Celebrating Growth in Our Church Family”

As we step into February, let’s take a moment to reflect on the resolutions we set at the beginning of the year. It’s a perfect time for a check-in, celebrating our achievements and renewing our commitment to personal and spiritual growth.
Gratitude in Reflection:
Give thanks for the journey so far. Let’s celebrate the small victories and learn from the lessons, fostering a positive mindset within our church community.
Spiritual Resolutions:
How have we been doing with our spiritual goals? Reflect on prayer, scripture reading, and acts of kindness. Share your personal stories and testimonies to inspire and uplift one another.
Accountability Partnerships:
Connect with your accountability partners. Share your successes and challenges, and support each other in your resolutions. We’re stronger together as a church family.
Adjusting Goals:
Life is dynamic, and sometimes our resolutions need adjustments. It’s okay to reassess and modify goals to better align with personal and spiritual growth.
Community Support:
Explore the group activities and programs that support individual resolutions. Whether it’s a Bible study group, fitness class, or community service initiative, our church provides a supportive environment for growth.
Prayer Focus:
Integrate prayer into your check-in process. Seek guidance and strength in prayer, asking for wisdom to stay committed to your goals.
Reflecting on Challenges:
Acknowledge the challenges that come with pursuing resolutions. Share strategies for overcoming obstacles, reminding each other that setbacks are a natural part of the journey.
Renewed Commitment:
As we conclude, let’s renew our commitment to personal and spiritual growth. Join in a collective prayer for strength, resilience, and perseverance as we continue this journey together.
Remember, we are a supportive community, and every step forward is a reason for celebration. May this check-in inspire us to keep growing together as a church family.

Weekly Power Surge!

Our Pastor has given space in our weekly Sunday night Glory Experiences to our preachers and ministers of the gospel. These individuals have 7 minutes to release a word to the congregation. At end the month of January, we had Sister Queen Esther Lacey to gave her word. Her topic was Spiritual Diets. She lead us into the word of God to show us how we cannot only live by the parts of the bible that are comfortable with, or not applying the word to our lives correctly. She brought us to Matthew 4:4 "It is written, man does not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God. She brought examples of using the word of God to hold you accountable when you are going through different things in life. If you are dealing with impatience when it comes to marriage, turn to I Corinthians 7:9, II Corinthians 6:14 and Amos 3:3. Then turn to the Lord about his promises toward you, such as in Psalms 37:3-4. Think about the relationships between your parents and children and turn to Exodus 20:12, Ephesians 6:4. In those times that you are angry and want to lash out, go to Ephesians 4:26 -27 and 4:29. Be sure to join us as these preachers and teachers go forth every Sunday!
